It isn’t easy to come up with creative employee appreciation ideas for employee appreciation week. A leading Memphis hospital, however, had more than enough great employee appreciation ideas to fill an entire week of events and celebrations.
Employee Appreciation Week was a big deal for the hospital. Although they operate a successful service award program which recognizes 5 year milestones of service, they don’t usually celebrate all staff together. This year, they decided to do something special for everyone.
The recognition and awards team came up with many great employee appreciation ideas to honor the staff. The week-long celebration had a different activity each day to recognize the employees, and thank them for their contributions.
The events took a lot of planning because it was the first time they had an employee appreciation event at that scale, but the work was well worth it. The week filled with employee appreciation ideas and events was a big hit with employees, and the planning team received a lot of positive feedback.
Here’s how the hospital’s calendar filled up with employee appreciation ideas during Employee Appreciation Week:
Kick-off event! Appreciation goodie bags
with snacks given to all employees. (They loved it!)
Company pride day. Employees could go casual to work and wear their corporate gear: t-shirts, polos, hats. This event is one of many no-cost employee appreciation ideas.
Carnival lunch. Catered lunch of corn dogs, burgers, sausages, BBQ and funnel cake was served under the big top. Carnival games were set up and employees could play for the coveted prize of cotton candy.
Karaoke in the cafeteria. Essential Piece trophies
were given as prizes to the favorite performers.
Ice cream day! Freezers were located in all the buildings throughout the hospital campus stocked full with ice cream treats.
Catered party at the zoo reserved exclusively for employees and their families wrapped up the week of celebration and thanks.
