“Last year, we started a peer recognition program where the staff was asked to recognize the effort or contribution of a co-worker that went above and beyond. We have a small office, around 25 employees, and some months we receive 7-8 nominations. I think the peer recognition program is a nice variation of employee of the month because the office manager isn't doing the recognition.
For the winner, they get a choice of a $30 gas card or 1 month free parking. The nominators get to pick from a prize vault (usually stocked with free goodies from vendors). The winner’s nomination is made into a decorative celebration that is hung on our 'wall of fame'
for all to see, year around.”
