April and May are full of appreciation holidays and opportunities! In the coming weeks, organizations will be celebrating volunteers, administrative professionals, teachers, nurses and more. However, event planners and managers often struggle to find the best way to express sincere appreciation.
We recommend incorporating a recognition theme into an appreciation celebration to simplify your planning and make the appreciation more effective. The upcoming recognition holidays are a great time to use recognition themes to recognize individuals, their contributions and simply say thank you.
Our most popular recognition theme, Essential Piece recognizes the value of each individual. The theme is a perfect way to recognize the essential role volunteers play in your organizations. For example, one of our charitable partners is sending an Essential Piece bookmark and greeting card to each of its 600 volunteers during National Volunteer Week!
Recognize the impact of administrative professionals on your organization with the Making the Difference theme. By giving a small gift they can use, like our Note Cube and Pen Gift Set, your recipients will be reminded of your appreciation every time they write a note.Sometimes the best way to express appreciation is to say thank you.
The Thanks for All You Do theme is great for any of the upcoming appreciation days. This theme’s vibrant design and bold colors make it perfect for a spring appreciation event. Write a handwritten thank you note to each of your recipients to and deliver it by hand for a memorable appreciation moment.
Low-cost ways to make an impact during the upcoming appreciation weeks.
- Deliver a chocolate bar as a surprise treat with a thank you post-it note.
- Brighten their day by giving everyone a small gift and single spring flower.
- Express your appreciation by creating an award certificate for each individual.
- Encourage camaraderie and fun by planning a group activity.
- Take the time to recognize every day! Next time you see a busy volunteer or administrative professional, stop her, look her in the eye and say “thank you for all you do!”
Every year during National Volunteer Week, the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre recognizes its 600 volunteers!
The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is one of the nation’s largest community theatres, and it takes a small army of volunteers to keep the theatre operating smoothly. Each year during National Volunteer Week, those volunteers receive special recognition.
It’s a challenge to recognize 600 volunteers who live throughout the region, so the theatre mails a small recognition gift directly to volunteers’ homes. Last year, each volunteer received a customized thank you greeting card and Character Pin. They were thrilled to receive the special recognition!
