“Each year we have the daunting task of purging and storing closed files (approx. 10,000 files per year). In previous years, the office manager (me) has been responsible for this task by herself. Determined to make this a fun, team effort, we now have what we call a "Grub Day." The support staff can dress down, get into the file room, and without regard to whose files are whose, we box up, shred, store and organize our file room. The office budget springs for lunch.
The first year it took us all day. Now after a few years, we get the task done in less than 5 hours! Everyone pitches in and helps each other without complaint. It has been a successful way to work together as a team and accomplish a task no one wants to do alone.”
