Purpose: To recognize excellence in performance by an individual

Description: A framed excellence certificate signed by the supervisor

Eligibility: Given at supervisor discretion to recognize excellence for a particular product or level of service

Presentation: Excellence certificate presented personally to the individual in the supervisor’s office by the supervisor alone or in the presence of a higher-level management team member

Observations: The excellence certificate has been particularly valued by teachers and specialists and is usually displayed in their work area after they are taken home to show spouses or friends. A copy of the excellence certificate can be placed in the individual’s personnel file with their permission. Framing the excellence certificate increases significantly the odds that the certificate will be displayed rather than tucked away in a file.
