I work for a hospital and we had a luncheon in honor of community members who host blood drives and sponsors that support our community's blood bank. I attached it to a card saying they were an essential piece to Saving Lives Locally (which is also our tag line.) I handed this small token of appreciation to our guests as they signed in. They loved the pins and worked for both the gentlemen and the ladies. One guest loved the idea so much that he wants to order them to give to his teachers at his school. It was nice to give guests something as a takeaway so they can remember they are such an integral part in our community.

A school in Grenada, West Indies is giving the students the essential piece lapel to attach to the tie on their school uniform--and the valuing of individuals and community of school learners. The principal got the idea when I handed one out to each of her staff members at a presentation that I did for her school last year.
