My Pre-calculus teacher gave me one of these, along with the rest of the class. It was her gift to us for being her most wonderful students and most favorite math class to teach(we were her only class). It was her way of saying we made a difference to her life. This starfish has come to mean lots of things to us. It is good quality and I will most likely wear it on my graduation gown. It is also a good source of inspiration.

I chose this theme for a long-term substitute teacher who was leaving. Three other 'star' items were also purchased. Even though none of the items was expensive, altogether it made a nice parting gift along with the theme class picture, note book from class and themed cake. Purchased: tote bag, key chain, gem pin, notepad & pen.

We gave this as a gift to a team that had worked particularly hard and has had amazing results after a very rocky start. I shared the story of making a difference associated with the starfish, and everyone was very touched and then related it to our day-to-day world. I believe it brought us closer together as a team and gave them pride in what they do as well because they ARE making a difference every single day and they know they are appreciated!
