My college roommate sent me this poem right after graduation. I keep it close by to help me remember I wear many hats as a supportive co-worker and friend.
The people in one’s life are like the pillars on one’s porch you see life through.
Sometimes they hold you up.
And sometimes they lean on you.
And sometimes it is just nice to know you are standing by.
As you plan your day, think about who needs holding up and who needs reassurance that you are there for them. And make sure you thank those pillars that hold you up and help you make it through the day.
